Vero Beach High School Summer Drama Camp presents Willy Wonka

VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach High School Drama Department is presenting their third annual Summer Camp with performances of Willy Wonka, presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International.  The performances will take place on Friday, June 24 and Saturday, June 25 at 7:30 pm, and Sunday, June 26 at 2:00 pm in the VBHS Performing Arts Center.

Tickets to the performances are $8 General Admission and will be available in the VBHS Performing Arts Center Box Office at 772-564-5537.

Roald Dahl’s timeless story of the world-famous candy man and his quest to find an heir comes to life in this stage adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which features the songs from the classic family film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

This new stage musical adaptation is designed to bring all of the magic on the page to vivid life on the stage. WILLY WONKA is a scrumdidilyumptious musical guaranteed to delight everyone’s sweet tooth. In a troubled world looking for escape, let Mr. Wonka take you on a fantasy ride into the land of pure imagination!

The camp staff includes Mrs. Dee Rose-Imbro, Director, Mr. Andrew Currie, Choreographer, and Ms. Karen Wiggins as Music Director with several other student musicians who will create a live orchestra accompaniment and all the technical elements of a full scale musical production. Adapted for the stage, with lyrics and music by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley, the cast and crew includes over 100 students from Indian River County.
