Salvation Army’s holiday gift card program gets support from PNC Foundation

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – The Salvation Army of Indian River County has announced that it received a $5,000 grant from The PNC Foundation that funded The Holiday Gift Card Program this past Christmas season.

The Program provided Food Gift Cards to at risk residents in the Indian River County community to purchase food for the Holiday Season.

The Salvation Army of IRC started the program in 1999 to fill a void in the community where folks who were not able to afford groceries for the holidays could receive help.

This program not only provides a gift card to help purchase a holiday meal but also gives them hope that help is out there during these trying times with the current economic climate.

It’s the support of community food drives, financial support from our community and organizations like The Harbor Foundation that has helped sustain the Holiday Gift Card Assistance Program for over 10 years.
