Laura Palmer Crouse, 94, Vero Beach

Laura Palmer Crouse, 94, died on Sunday, May 29, 2011, in Vero Beach.

Born in Chester, Pa., she lived in Wallingford and Chester Springs, Pa., and later in Vero Beach.

She graduated from Westtown School, and attended the University of Pennsylvania.

Throughout her life she was an active volunteer at The Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia, McKee Gardens in Vero Beach, and Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution in Fort. Pierce.

She was a member of the Pickering Hunt Club, Corinthian Yacht Club, the Cruising Club of America, Waynesborough Country Club, and the Moorings Club.

She spent her final years at Indian River Estates in Vero Beach.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Charles White Crouse and her son, Richard.

Survivors include her sons, Charles Jr. and Peter; daughter, Perry Jeffords; seven grandchildren, James, Sara, Scott, and Chris Crouse, Walter, Abby and Laura Jeffords and one great grandchild.

A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Indian River Estates.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach, Florida.
