The Little Prince to be performed at St. Edward’s School

VERO BEACH — Saint Edward’s School students will present The Little Prince on Friday, May 13 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 14 at 2:00 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. in the Waxlax Center for the Performing Arts.

This world famous illustrated novella by Antoine de Saint-Exupery tells the story of a lone aviator who crashes his plane in the Sahara Desert and ends up befriending an unlikely little boy – a Little Prince – who has gone roaming across the universe in search of answers.

On the Little Prince’s journey he ends up meeting a variety of characters including, a Geographer, a Businessman, a King, a Lamplighter, a Tippler, a Conceited man, a deadly Snake and a Fox longing to be tamed.  As the production takes place across time and space, all of the scenic settings are created with the use of rear projection, making for some beautiful and powerful imagery throughout the show.

Students in the play include Juliette Moulton as the Little Prince, Cassidy Layton as the Aviator, Natasha Bowman as the Rose, Karissa Mokoban as the Fox and Andreea Scridon as the Snake.  The cast is rounded out by fellow actors Mackenzie Marsocci, Gabby Squillace, Elizabeth Diaz, Monica Mills, Grace Kahle, Colby Blackwill, Hughie Dunbar, Lily Kane and Maggie Taylor.  All of the technical aspects for the production will also be run by students with James Moulton as Stage Manager, Brian Barnett on Lights, and Dirk Pfeifle and Archie Rea on video. Jeremy Baker, Technical Director of the Waxlax Center for the Performing Arts is the production’s Director.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.
