Indian River County parents can start registering kindergarteners

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – Registration for the 2011-2012 school year for kindergarten students has begun.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to visit the School District of Indian River County’s Attendance Office, 1426 18th St., Vero Beach, to register their children. Children are required to be five years old on or before Sept. 1 to enroll in kindergarten.    The following documents must be provided to the School District at time of registration:

Certified Birth Certificate

Social Security Number (if available)

Proof of Address in the form of a current utility bill, cable bill, lease, closing documents, etc.

In August, parents and guardians will need to furnish to the school their children will be attending proof of a physical that is not more than one year old.  They will also need to provide a Certificate of Immunization with their children’s shots record.

Even children accepted to a magnet school must still complete an enrollment form.
