Roman “Ray” Donofrio, 87, Vero Beach

Roman “Ray” Donofrio, 87, died March 30, 2011, at the Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.

He was born in Bristol, Pa., and lived in Vero Beach for 33 years, coming from Levittown, Pa.

He was a chemical operator at Rohm & Haas Co. for 33 years, retiring in 1978.

He served in the Army during World War II.

He was a member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach, Polish American Club and Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his sisters, Yolanda Bachstein, of Bristol and Gioella Castor, of Levittown.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Donofrio; and sisters, Rose Paglione, Mary Rinaldi and Pierina Caruso.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. April 19 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach.

Arrangements are by Strunk Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.
