Pinwheels for Prevention to focus on child abuse prevention

VERO BEACH — The Exchange Club of the Treasure Coast and the Indian River County Healthy Start Coalition are taking part in Prevent Child Abuse Florida’s Pinwheels for Prevention campaign by planting pinwheel gardens.

The pinwheel garden planting will take place at the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce Building, at 1216 21st Street, and Marine Bank & Trust, at 1450 US Highway 1, on Saturday, April 16 at 7 a.m. and will remain on display until 12 p.m.

The Pinwheels for Prevention campaign is part of a national movement to change the way we think about prevention by focusing on community activities and public policies that prioritize healthy child development so abuse and neglect never begins.

As part of the campaign, PCA Florida is working with Indian River County Healthy Start to distribute resource materials that promote a better understanding of child developments to parents and child advocates throughout Indian River County, Vero Beach.
