Truman J. Vrooman, 93, Vero Beach

Truman J. Vrooman, 93, died March 26, 2011, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.

He was born in Sherman, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach for 24 years and Port St. Lucie for two years, coming from North Clymer, N.Y.

He was a veteran of the Army Air Forces during World War II.

Before retirement, he owned and operated North Clymer Feed and Farm Supply for 35 years.

He was a member of North Clymer United Methodist Church, North Clymer.

He was a justice of the peace and a town board member of North Clymer.

Survivors include his wife of two years, Beverley J. Vrooman, of Port St. Lucie; son, Dr. Dennis Vrooman, of Virginia Beach, Va.; daughter, Joyce Griffith, of Vero Beach; sister, Verna Fickencher, of Erie, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Vrooman, in 2004; and son, Dale Vrooman, in 1985.

Memorial contributions may be made to North Clymer United Methodist Church, North Clymer, NY 14724.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date in North Clymer.

Interment will be in North Clymer Cemetery.
