FHP: Woman, 46, injured when Vero Beach driver runs red light

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – A 46-year-old woman is in the hospital recovering from injuries sustained when a vehicle ran a red light and collided with her vehicle Saturday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Fort Pierce’s Marissa Bullington was traveling south on 58th Avenue in the area of 8th Street when a westbound driver failed to stop at the red light, authorities said.

That driver, identified as Karie Lynn Crooker, 40, of Vero Beach, collided with Bullington, causing her own vehicle to overturn atop a third vehicle.

Bullington was transported to Lawnwood Medical Center for treatment. Her condition was not immediately known.

No one in the third vehicle or Crooker’s vehicle were injured, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Crooker was cited for running a red light. Other charges could be filed.
