Advanced tickets on sale now for Firefighter’s Fair

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – The Firefighters’ Indian River County Fair returns Friday, March 11 through Sunday, March 20 at the county fairgrounds.

Advanced tickets are on sale until opening, with $1 off admission tickets and 33 percent off ride fun cards.

Popular attractions and shows returning include The Firefighter Training Show, sponsored by Wachovia Bank; Demolition Derby and Mini Car Heat, sponsored by Mike’s Towing & Firehouse Garage; “Marcus Magic” Illusion & Comedy Show; and the Jon Simon “Comedy Hypnosis Show.”

The Indian River County Youth 4-H Clubs and their projects will be on display in the Livestock Pavilion, and the Exhibit Hall will showcase local businesses and organizations.

New this year is an interactive blacksmith show, which engages young and old alike. As always, there is plenty of live entertainment, and this year Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Sophie B. Hawkins will be in concert on Wednesday, March 16 at 8 p.m. on the Entertainment Stage. The concert is free with paid gate admission.

The Firefighters’ Fair is a nonprofit organization. All proceeds from the fair benefit the Indian River County Burn Fund, local scholarships, fairground improvements and other charitable organizations.

The fair will be open Monday – Friday at 5 p.m. and open and Saturday & Sunday at 1 p.m.; Close Sunday – Thursday at 11 p.m. or as warranted and close Friday & Saturday at Midnight.

Admission remains $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and children 6 to 12. Children 5 and under are free. Parking is free.
