Man killed during early morning confrontation in Wabasso

WABASSO - A man in his early 20s was shot and killed overnight Sunday in the Summerplace neighborhood of Wabasso. Indian River County Sheriff's Office spokesman Deputy Jeff Luther said that about 2:45 a.m. Sunday man in his early 20s approached a house on the 9400 block of Periwinkle Drive, in the Summerplace subdivision of Wabasso Beach. "The resident got into a confrontation with the white male," Luther said. "A gun was involved. That is all we know at this time, as the case is still under investigation."
