Virginia Petruchik, 79, Vero Beach

Virginia Petruchik, 79, of Vero Beach, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, at Indian River Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 18, 1931, in Detroit, Mich., and had been a resident of Vero Beach since 1989, coming from Long Island.

Petruchik retired as an insurance personnel clerk from Grumman Aerospace in Bethpage, N.Y., after 25 years of employment.

She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church and the Polish American Club, both in Vero Beach.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Fred J. Petruchik; daughters, Diane Delisi, of Port Saint Lucie and Julie Rogus, of Vero Beach; sisters, Julia Pizza, of Farmingville, N.Y. and Stephanie Dykas of Las Vegas, Nev.; brother, Tony Grand, of Edgewater; four grandchildren, Kevin Archer, Jessica DiSilvestro, Kayla Rogus and Justin Rogus.

She was predeceased by daughter, Lisa Petruchik.

The family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, with a wake service to follow at 6 p.m. at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.

A funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, at St. Helen Catholic Church.
