Bye Bye Birdie at Vero Beach High School

VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Department will present the musical Bye Bye Birdie at the VBHS Performing Arts Center on Friday, February 11 and Saturday, February 12 at 7:30 pm and on Sunday, February 13 at 2 pm. Bye Bye Birdie is produced with special arrangement through Tams-Witmark Music Library, directed by Dee Rose Imbro with choreography by Andrew Currie of Dance Space and music direction by Gregory Harris. This production involves nearly 100 Indian River County students, including cast, crew and live orchestra.

Bye Bye Birdie is one of the most captivating musicals of our time and the winner of 4 Tony Awards with Book by Michael Stewart, Music by Charles Strouse and Lyrics by Lee Adams.

It is a satire done with the fondest affection, and tells the story of a rock ‘n roll singer who is to be inducted into the US Army. Songs from this show, An English Teacher, What Did I Ever See in Him?, Put on a Happy Face, One Boy, A Lot of Livin’ to Do, and Spanish Rose, are musical theatre classics. This is tops in imagination and good ol’ fashioned fun.

Tickets are $10 for the upper Mezzanine level and $12 for the lower Orchestra level and are on sale now at the Box Office.  On Sunday’s performance, children ages 12 and under receive half price admission.

Call 772-564-5537 to order tickets; all seating is reserved.
