Donald McKenzie Gallagher, 95, Vero Beach

Donald McKenzie Gallagher, 95, died Jan. 18, 2011, at the Lynmoore at Lawnwood Assisted Living Facility in Fort Pierce.

He was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and lived in Vero Beach for 34 years, coming from Wilmington, Del.

Before retirement, he had a career in the chemical industry.

His positions included vice president of CIL Montreal, president of ICI Americas in Stamford, Conn., and executive vice president of ICI Americas Inc. in Wilmington.

He was a member of United Church of Canada.

He was a member of the Canadian Club in Montreal.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering from Queens University in Kingston, Ontario.

Survivors include his sons, David Gallagher, of Deep River, Ontario, and Andy Gallagher, of Langley, British Columbia; daughter, Kathy Boyes, of Greenacres; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Johnston Gallagher in 1987; and second wife, Gloria Goldstein Gallagher in 2005.

Memorial contributions may be made to the , 3375 20th St., Vero Beach, FL 32960.

A service will be at a later date at James Reid Funeral Home in Kingston.

Interment will be in Wilton Cemetery in Ontario.
