Salvation Army needs $20,000 to achieve Red Kettle Goal

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – With three days left till Christmas The Salvation of Indian River County is edging closer to the goal of $150,000.

As of Wednesday, Dec. 22, the Salvation Army is at $130,000 or 88 percent of its goal. “Your pocket change will make the difference whether The Salvation Army makes its goal or not this Holiday Season,” organizers said. “Your change will help make change in our community for 2011 year and help The Salvation Army ‘Do The Most Good’ with your generosity.”

This year the Salvation Army will need just as much support and is asking you to take notice of all the Red Kettles that are out in front of many retail locations in Indian River County during these final couple days ending Dec. 24 and make a donation to The Salvation Army, some of these locations include, Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, Publix, Walgreens, K-Mart, Winn Dixie and The Post Office.

The Red Kettle Campaign is the major fund-raiser for The Salvation Army and helps to support all our programs for the entire 2011 year.

The Salvation Army is only as successful as its generous donors and community members allow it to be.

“Without the help and support of this community, we would never be able to maintain our progress and service,” organizers said. “We need our community support this Christmas and look forward to exceeding our Red Kettle Campaign goal.”
