Everett Curtis “Pop” Wright, 79, Vero Beach

Everett Curtis “Pop” Wright, 79, died Dec. 19, 2010, at Indian River Medical Center.

He was born in Wilmington, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach for 29 years, coming from Keeseville, N.Y.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, where he served in the 9th Infantry Division.

Before retirement, he worked for the Ausable Valley Telephone Co. in Keeseville, N.Y., and Pargas Co. in Plattsburg, N.Y.

He also worked for Public Gas Co. and East Coast Gas in Vero Beach and was the owner and operator of Pop’s Lawn Service.

He was a member of the Korean War Veterans Association Indian River Chapter 318 and St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Jean Margaret Wright, of Vero Beach; daughters, Tina Driskell, Bonnie Driskell, Tammy Seguin and Faylene Cook, all of Vero Beach; sisters, Lona Munzberg, of Aiken, S.C., and Betty Jane Richards, of Albany, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 22 at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach, followed by a service at 6 p.m.
