Ardile Eldell Gordon-Black, 94, died Dec. 15, 2010, at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
She was born in Douglas, Ga., and lived in Wabasso for 70 years.
She attended the public schools of Coffee County, Ga.
Before retirement, she was a citrus contractor in Indian River County.
She was a member of the Wabasso Church of God, where she served in administrative capacities in the church, and was a member of the Mothers Board, Women’s Ministries, Sunday School, Bible Study, Mission and Outreach Ministries.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Black, of Wabasso; sons, Charles Black Jr., of Pensacola and Charles Gordon, of North Carolina; daughters, Ruth Butler-Walkine, of Fort Pierce and Margaret Strachen, of Pahokee; sister, Aretha Brock, of Wabasso; brother, Bishop David Eldell, of Mobile, Ala.; more than six grandchildren; more than 14 great-grandchildren; more than 20 great-great-grandchildren; and more than two great-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Haywood Gordon; sons, George Anderson Sr., Bidhop Harry Gordon, David Gordon, Earnest Gordon and Raymond Gordon; daughters, Doretha Holman and Johnnie Mae Slaughter; and 18 siblings.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Dec. 18 at the Wabasso Church of God in Wabasso.
A home going celebration will be at 3 p.m. Dec. 19 at the church with the pastor, Bishop John A. Thorne, officiating.
Burial will follow in West Wabasso Cemetery in Wabasso.
