Alvin Sides, 59, died Dec. 4, 2010, at his home.
He was born in Eclectic, Ala., and lived in Vero Beach since 2002, coming from Naranja.
Before retiring, he was a facility technician for 31 years at AT&T.
He was a member of the Vero Beach Moose Lodge and attended St. Helen Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Salve Sides, of Vero Beach; son, Michael Anthony Sides, of Alabama; sister, Diane; brothers Ben, Eddie and Steve Sides, all of Alabama; stepsister, Lynn; stepbrother, Bubba; and several grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice House, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 6 at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Dec. 7 at St. Helen Catholic Church.
Out-of-town arrangements are by Ellison Funeral Home in Wetumpka, Ala..
