Casimir Stanley Malinowski, 80, Vero Beach

Casimir Stanley Malinowski, 80, died Nov. 28, 2010, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.

He was born in Fall River, Mass., and lived in Conway, N.H., before moving to Vero Beach six months ago.

He was a lifetime member of BPOE Elks Lodge.

Survivors include his daughter, Catherine Girouard, of Willow Spring, N.C.; son, Thomas Malinowski, of Syracuse, N.Y.; daughter, Lisa Webster, of Vero Beach; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Catherine Malinowski; and grandson, Jonathan Webster.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire-North, P.O. Box 260, Conway, NH 03818.

A private memorial service was conducted Nov. 30 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach.

VERO BEACH — While chilly temperatures caused a drop in beach attendance last month, lifeguards are happy to report that there were no water rescues that occurred in January. ‘Tragic, sudden loss,’ – Memorials emerge for teen killed in ATV crash

With the sudden death of Sebastian River High School student Jake Beecher still fresh, family, friends, teammates and coaches continue to come to terms with the tragic crash that took his life. ‘No swimming’ advisory lifted for beaches, officials say

VERO BEACH — Authorities lifted a 'no swimming' advisory for three local beaches Tuesday after test samples showed that bacteria returned to normal levels, health department and city officials said. The result means it was safe to return to the water Tuesday, Vero Beach city officials said. The advisory - which was in place for nearly a week - was issued Jan. 31 for South Beach, Humiston Beach and Sexton Plaza Beach after high levels of fecal-related bacteria were reported at the locations.
