Hilda Sterling, 79, Vero Beach

Hilda Sterling, 79, died Nov. 15, 2010, in Vero Beach.

She was born in Atlantic City, N.J., and lived in Vero Beach for 22 years, coming from her birthplace. Before retiring, she was a social worker for the Egg Harbor (N.J.) Board of Education for 10 years.

She was a member of Temple Beth Shalom of Vero Beach.

A pianist and vocalist, she was a member and manager of the Vero Beach Senior Rhythm Band.

Survivors include her sons, Sam Sterling, of Frisco, Texas, and Bruce Sterling of Boulder, Colo.; brother, Jack Portner of Lake Worth; and four grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Beth Shalom, 365 43rd Ave., Vero Beach, FL 32968.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Nov. 19 at Temple Beth Shalom, Vero Beach with Rabbi Michael Birnholz officiating.

A second memorial service will be 2 p.m. Nov. 21 at The Isles of Vero Beach, 1700 Waterford Drive.
