Norma Spagnoli, 81, Vero Beach

Norma Spagnoli, 81, died Nov. 7, 2010, at VNA Hospice House.

She was born in Corona, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach for 16 years, coming from Staten Island, N.Y. Before retirement, she was a bookkeeper with an insurance company.

Survivors include her sister, Antoinette Brugnoli, of Vero Beach.

Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 10 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Nov. 11 at St. Helen Catholic Church.

Burial will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery.

GIFFORD — The spirit of solidarity flourished at the Martin Luther King Jr. Parade along 45th Street, where residents gathered to see creative floats, marching band performances and banners showing King's image along with some of his famous quotes. 2 wounded in late Monday shooting; deputies investigating

GIFFORD — Two people suffered non-life threatening injuries following a double shooting late Monday, Indian River County sheriff's deputies reported. It was the second reported shooting to take place in Indian River County over the Labor Day weekend. Both incidents are not connected, sheriff's spokesperson Sgt. Kevin Jaworski said. Details on the motive in Monday's shooting were not immediately available. Man killed in overnight shooting in Gifford

GIFFORD — A man in his early 20s was killed after being struck by gunfire overnight, authorities said. Indian River County sheriff's officials said there was no known danger to the public but are investigating the case as a homicide. "Currently, detectives are working all leads," sheriff's officials said in a statement. "There is no suspect information that can be presently shared."
