Robert L. “Bob” Lowery, 86, Vero Beach

Robert L. “Bob” Lowery, 86, died Nov. 1, 2010, at VNA Hospice, Vero Beach.

He was born in Covington County, Ala., and lived in Vero Beach for 40 years, coming from Pensacola. Prior to retirement, he worked for Southern Bell Telephone Co. for 34 years. He was the founder and owner of Bob’s E-Z Boot Protector. He served in the Merchant Marine during World War II.

He was active with the Indian River Riding Club, the 4-H Horsemasters Club and the 4-H State Advisory Board.

He was a graduate of Covington County High School.

Survivors include his daughters, Becky Seton, of Vero Beach and Lisa Lowery, of Fort Pierce; sons, John Lowery, of Florala, Ala., and David Lowery, of Sebastian; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Sybil Lowery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice, 901 37th St., Vero Beach, FL 32960.

Visitation will be at noon Nov. 6 at Aycock Funeral Home, Fort Pierce, with a service to follow at 1 p.m.

Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Fort Pierce.
