Treasure Coast Chefs to serve up Tasty Tapas for Healthy Babies

VERP BEACH — The Second Annual Signature Chefs Auction and Wine Extravaganza is set for Monday, November 15 at The Moorings Club in Vero Beach. The festivities will begin at 6:00 pm.

The event promises supporters an evening of culinary delights created by 21 of the Treasure Coast’s finest chefs, paired with a wine tasting, an irresistible silent and live auction, and a chance to show off your latest dance moves.  Proceeds from the event will benefit the March of Dimes

The charity gala promises to be a memorable riverside evening with guests sporting “country club chic” attire.   Twenty one local chefs and restaurants will be presenting their most delectable dishes while live and silent auctions will add to the excitement.  Finally, Bobby and the Blisters are set to entertain the crowd with popular music, perfect for the dance floor.

A triumvirate of skilled chefs are serving as chef co-chairs including Michael Lander of the Moorings Club, David Rodriguez of Fuegos Wine and Tapas and Kevin Downing, sous chef at the Disney Vero Beach Resort.  Downing promises those in attendance will be delighted with the chefs’ scrumptious offerings.

“There will definitely be some competition among the chefs to see who offers the most popular dishes,” Downing said.  “It’s a great way for us all to promote our restaurants and our catering businesses.”

Matt Fetherston, Area Manager of Food and Beverages for the Disney Vero Beach Resort is chairman of the event.

“It’s a natural fit for Disney to support the March of Dimes because Disney is focused on children and the March of Dimes’ mission is to help babies to be born healthy,” Fetherston said.

Committee members are meeting regularly to ensure the success of the Signature Chefs Auction and Wine Extravaganza.  Their goal is to raise $110,000 for the Treasure Coast March of Dimes whose mission is to improve the health of all babies by preventing birth defects, premature births and infant mortality.

Tickets are $200 and may be purchased by calling the March of Dimes office at 772-562-0115 or on line at www.marchofdimes.com/florida.
