Joseph Elmer Gillis Sr., 64, died Oct. 24, 2010, at the VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach.
He was born in Meriden, Conn., and lived in Vero Beach for 12 years, coming from Connecticut. He served in the Army and was a member of the 11th Armed Calvary “Blackhorse” Regiment.
He was a supervisor for AGC for 18 years.
He was a member of Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his wife, of 32 ½ years, Rose Gillis, of Vero Beach; and son Joseph Gillis, of Vero Beach.
Services will be in Connecticut at a later date.
Arrangements are by Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.
