George F. Taylor, 71, Vero Beach

George F. Taylor, 71, died Oct. 12, 2010, at Indian River Medical Center.

He was born in Somerville, N.J., and moved to Vero Beach 26 years ago, coming from New Jersey. Before retirement, he was the CEO of Taylor Oil, a company founded by his grandfather.

Previously he was a firefighter. He was a member of the Vero Beach Yacht Club.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Jean Taylor, of Vero Beach; daughters, Laura Perry, of Pennsylvania, Lynn Taylor, of New Jersey, and Leigh Talucci, of Pennsylvania; brother, David M. Taylor, of New Jersey; mother, Elizabeth Taylor, of New Jersey; and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Oct. 16 at Cusick Funeral Home in Somerville, N.J.

Arrangements are by Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach.

‘Tragic, sudden loss,’ – Memorials emerge for teen killed in ATV crash

With the sudden death of Sebastian River High School student Jake Beecher still fresh, family, friends, teammates and coaches continue to come to terms with the tragic crash that took his life.
