INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Workforce Solutions hosted the 2010 Indian River County Best Places to Work Awards Ceremony and Luncheon on Thursday, October 14 at the Club at Pointe West. Eight companies were recognized at the well-attended event, with awards split equally between companies with 50 or fewer employees and those with 51 or more employees.
The process began in July with a kick-off event at Marine Bank and Trust, which allowed companies and employees to learn more about the program. Indian River County employers were invited to participate in the Best Places to Work program by completing a free survey which was used to calculate which companies would be chosen for an award. The 40-question survey allowed their employment practices to be analyzed by the consulting firm of Personnel Dynamics Consulting in Fort Pierce. Consideration was given to a company’s turnover, growth, training and promotion, employee benefits, orientation programs, employee involvement in decision making processes, profit sharing, work environment and retirement plans.
