Treasure Coast Chorale opens season with “Let Music Live”

Vero Beach, FL — The Treasure Coast Chorale starts off its 2010-2011 entertainment season with a concert on Sunday, November 14 entitled “Let Music Live!”  Director Michael Carter has selected some favorite songs from Broadway musicals including The Music Man, The Phantom of the Opera, and The Sound of Music and others, supplemented by Robert Lowry’s beautiful How Can I Keep from Singing?   A very special treat will be We Bring You Music, an upbeat anthem composed by Tom Mills especially for the Treasure Coast Chorale in 2002.

“This is a joyous program, designed to make our audience smile, tap their toes and even sing as we will offer our popular sing-along during the concert,” says Carter.  “Our favorite oldies trio The Dolls will appear, as well as pianist Judy Carter, organist Brady Johnson, guitarist Dave Mundy, drummer Richie Mola, flautist Emilio Rutlant and the Festival Brass Quartet.”

Held as always at the First Baptist Church, 2206 16th Ave., Vero Beach, the concert will begin at 7 p.m.  The audience is encouraged to arrive early as most of the recent TCC concerts have been SRO.  There is no admission charge but a free-will offering will be taken to help offset the costs of this musical gift to the community.

The 75-member chorale will also perform in First Baptist’s 41st annual performance of Handel’s magnificent oratorio “The Messiah” on December 18 and 19 at 7 p.m.

The remainder of the Chorale’s year includes “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling” on March 13 at 3 and 7 p.m., and “Take Me Home, Country Roads!” on May 22 at 7 p.m.
