INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County (HSVB & IRC) will be sponsoring a rabies vaccination clinic for cats on Sunday, Oct. 17 from 1 – 4 p.m.
The clinic is open to Indian River County residents facing financial hardship and will be held at The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County, located at 6230 77th St., Vero Beach. The cost for vaccination is $10 per cat. Three-year rabies vaccinations can be administered for the same fee but cat owners must provide documentation that their cat was previously vaccinated against rabies.
Indian River County animal licenses may also be purchased at the event. A one-year license costs $10 if the cat is spayed or neutered or $20 for an unsterilized cat. Three-year licenses cost $25 for sterilized cats and $50 for unsterilized cats. A three-year rabies vaccination is required for a three-year license.
Cats should be considered healthy and must be brought to the event in a carrier.
Attendees must show current proof of Indian River County residency.
Copies of any previous vaccination records are helpful.
