Carl J. Koehler Jr., Vero Beach

Carl J. Koehler Jr. “Ding” died Aug. 22, 2010.

He was born in St. Louis and lived in Vero Beach. He attended Phillips Academy Andover and Yale University. He had a career in advertising, heading creative departments at Young & Rubicam, Sawdon & Bess, and Saatchi & Saatchi. He served in the Marine Corps.

Survivors include his daughters, Julia Koehler Howe, of Andover, Mass., Jennifer Wallace Koehler, of Mill Valley, Calif.; companion, Sheila Smith, of Vero Beach; sister, Mimi Koehler Ingersoll, of Bryn Mawr, Pa.; and one granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Barbara French Koehler. Memorial contributions be made to the Hospice Association of America, 401 Bowling Ave. Suite 51, Nashville, TN 37205-5124.

A memorial service will take place in Greenwich, Conn., in the fall.
