Frances Judith Ortyl Kuzontkoski, 84, Vero Beach

Frances Judith Ortyl Kuzontkoski, 84, died Aug. 20, 2010, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach.

She was born in Willimansett, Mass., lived in Vero Beach for 20 years, and was formerly of Chicopee, Mass. She was a graduate of Chicopee High School and attended the La Baron School of Cosmetology. She worked in cosmetology for 46 years. She was a member of the Massachusetts Cosmetology Association for many years and co-owned Town and Country Beauty Salon, Turners Falls, Mass., for 25 years.

In Florida, she worked at a salon in Vero Beach. She was a parishioner of St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach; and Our Lady of Peace Church, Turners Falls.

She was a member of the Polish American clubs of Vero Beach and Willimansett.

Survivors include her sons, Carl, of Ormond Beach, Chester, of Gill, Mass., and Michael, of Albuquerque, N.M.; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Kuzontkoski Sr.; brothers, Joseph and Albin Janas; and sisters, Emily Bovin, Elisabeth Chlosta, Stella Masztal and Jean Smith.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Kostanski Funeral Home, Turners Falls. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Aug. 27 at Our Lady of Peace Church, Turners Falls. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
