Robert Murray Woronoff, 77, Vero Beach

Robert Murray Woronoff, 77, of Vero Beach, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010.

Born May 15, 1933 in Long Branch, N.J., he was the son of the late Dr. Murray Woronoff and Mary Loog Woronoff Holland. Woronoff graduated from the Haverford School in Philadelphia, Pa., and Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., where he excelled as a running back on the football team. He was a retired sales executive in the medical supply industry. Whether coaching Little League baseball or prowling the sidelines as an unofficial team photographer, Woronoff will be remembered as an active father in his children’s lives.

A civic-minded businessman, Woronoff engaged in numerous charitable endeavors toward the betterment of the various communities that he called home. Later in life, Bob enjoyed traveling the world and using his camera to document his journeys.

Survivors include his five children: Ruth Daniels Woronoff Pellisero, of Charlotte, N.C., Robert Murray Woronoff, Jr., of Raleigh, N.C., Patricia Daniels Woronoff Padden, of Cary, N.C., David Bagley Woronoff, of Pinehurst, N.C., and Frank Daniels Woronoff, of Okemos, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; former wife Patricia Bagley Daniels, of Vero Beach; sister: Linda Fiske and husband Jerry, of West Hartford, Conn.; and two nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home (300 St. Mary’s Street) in Raleigh. Immediately following the memorial service, the family will receive friends and family.
