UPDATE: 2 killed in roll-over crash on I-95 near Sebastian

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Two people were killed and two others critically injured in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 near Mile Marker 154 south of Sebastian Friday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Mary Hernandez, 47, of South Carolina, was driving south on I-95 in a Chevy Trail Blazer when she lost control of the vehicle and drove into the grassy median.

 

Shortly after 9:30 a.m., the vehicle rolled several times, ejecting Hernandez and her three passengers, including 58-year-old Felipa Hernandez, of Miami, before the vehicle came to a stop in the northbound lanes, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Both women were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other passengers, Rodes Esther Hernandez, of South Carolina, and Emilio Williams, of Miami, were transported to different trauma centers for treatment. Hernandez was listed in serious condition, while Williams was listed in critical.

The only person wearing a seatbelt, according to the FHP, was Mary Hernandez.
