INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Mortgage industry watchdog RealtyTrac has released data showing that foreclosure filings in Indian River County shot up nearly 50 percent from a year ago.In all there were 464 foreclosure filings in June 2010 in Indian River County, up from 311 such filings the previous June. RealtyTrac considers foreclosure filings default notices, auction sale notices and bank repossessions. While foreclosure notices were up in Indian River County, to the south St. Lucie and Martin counties saw year over year numbers drop. In St. Lucie County notices dropped from 900 in June 2009 to 623 last month, a 31 percent decrease. In Martin County filings dropped from 472 to 360, a 24 percent decrease.Overall for the state, foreclosure filings dipped 2.6 percent from 52,898 to 51,550.Compared to last month, filings in Indian River County increased 2.7 percent, from 452 to 464.
