Genevieve McKay, 93, Vero Beach

Genevieve McKay, 93, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, died July 2 at VNA Hospice House of Vero Beach.

Born Genevieve Agnew on Jan. 16, 1917 in the family farmhouse in Fullerton, Neb., she was a graduate of The University of Nebraska, Lincoln.

A gifted musician, she was a gifted pianist, pipe organist and taught high school music and chorus in Nebraska during the late 30s and in Florida during the early 40s.

A longtime Summerplace resident, she is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. E. Osborne McKay and daughter, Nancy Beasley.

She is survived by three sons: David G. McKay (Butner, N.C.), Peter A. McKay (Vero Beach), Paul O. McKay (St. Petersburg), two daughters: Bonnie Denman (Marietta, Ga.), Ann Burton (Orlando), five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

A true daughter of Nebraska, she was loved and adored by all.
