American Red Cross elects Board of Directors

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The American Red Cross North Treasure Coast Chapter elected the 2010 – 2011 Board of Directors at their annual meeting on June 28, 2010. Officers include Jane Cammann, Chair; Athalia Jones, Chair-Elect; Tom Kiernan, Treasurer; and Dora Thorne, Secretary. Returning board members include Amy Brunjes, Madison Hodges, Jonnie Jennings, Carol Johnston, Reuben Lane, Jeff Luther, and Ray McGowan. Newly elected board members include Levette Dixon, Brooke Odom and Dora Thorne.

Levette Dixon, a Fort Pierce native, is the Communications Manager for Fort Pierce Utilities. She received her juris doctor from Stetson University School of Law and has been a volunteer for several organizations in the area including St. Edwards School, Boys and Girls Club, Mustard Seed and United Way.

Brooke W. Odom obtained her undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of South Florida, and her juris doctor from Stetson University College of Law. Ms. Odom is an active member of the Junior League of Indian River. Ms. Odom, a resident of Vero Beach, is also a member of the Florida Bar Association and the Florida Adoption Council. She represents birth parents and adoptive parents in agency, independent, stepparent, and adult adoptions.

Dora Thorne is a Senior Private Banking Officer with Northern Trust. A native of Somers Point, NJ, Ms. Thorne has been a resident of Vero Beach since 1993. She served as the Northern Trust Co-Chair for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in 2010.

The American Red Cross, North Treasure Coast Chapter serving the residents of Indian River and St. Lucie Counties since 1917, provides relief to victims of disaster and helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.
