Frank Bruno, 82, Vero Beach

Frank Bruno, 82, died July 4, 2010, at his home.

He was born in Corona, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach for 32 years, coming from Massapequa, N.Y.

He was a veteran of the Navy, serving during World War II. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3918, Vero Beach, and Post 516, Farmingdale, N.Y., and American Legion Post 39, Vero Beach.

He owned and operated Seaford Dodge, Seaford, N.Y., and later Frank Bruno Realty, Vero Beach. He was a former member of the Realtors Association of Indian River County.

He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach.

He was a member of the Vero Beach Yacht Club, Vero Beach Country Club, Italian American Club in Vero Beach, and president of the Seaford Chamber of Commerce.

He was a pilot, flight instructor and member of the Civil Air Patrol.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Penny Bruno of Vero Beach; daughters, Nadine Fike of Vero Beach and Deborah McGerty of Holbrook, N.Y.; stepdaughter, Tracey Hanley of Vero Beach; sister, Anna Nuzzi of Port Richey; and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. July 7 at Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach, with a service at 11 a.m. July 8 at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach, with military honors by VFW Post 3918, Vero Beach. A guestbook is available at strunkfuneralhome.com.
