Catherine Rose Melicharek Clark Weidler, 73, Vero Beach

Catherine Rose Melicharek Clark Weidler, 73, born Aug. 6, 1936, died peacefully June 22, 2010, at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, after a courageous fight with cancer

She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Weidler, Jr., Sebastian; daughters, Doreen Clark (Lewis Copulsky) of Raleigh, N.C.; Lauren Clark of Newark, Del.; Colleen Clark Kessler (Michael) of Vero Beach; Peggy Clark of Sebastian; brother, James Melicharek of Upper Black Eddy, Pa.; sister-in-law, Lois Weidler Slattery of Sebastian; and grandsons Jacob Kessler, Benjamin Copulsky, Joseph Kessler, Daniel Copulsky.

She was predeceased by her father, John Melicharek, mother, Mary Josephine (Mollie) nee Donnelly and sister, Mary Josephine (Josie) Melicharek Chaplinski.

She worked as a customer service representative at Hale Groves.

She was a former member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Raleigh Does, and the Lutheran Church of Sebastian; more recently she was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian Woman’s Club (GFWC), the Sebastian Elks and the Women of the Moose.

In retirement she also volunteered as a reading tutor with Big Brothers/Big Sisters. She was an avid reader, enjoyed Broadway plays, dancing, traveling and family events.

Visitation will be 5-7 pm on Monday, June 28, at Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, with Father John Morrissey, officiating.

Interment will be at Rosemont Cemetery, Rosemont, NJ.
