Oslo Convenience Center, 2 others under boil water notice June 23

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River County Oslo Convenience Center and two other water customers on Old Dixie Highway will be under a boil water notice Wednesday, June 23.

The Utilities Department will be installing two water valves in the area, which is expected to take about six hours to complete.  The water is scheduled to be shut off starting at 8:30 a.m. that day.

Upon restoration of water service, the Indian River County Utilities Department advises that all water used for the following be boiled (a rolling boil of one minute is sufficient):

Drinking

Cooking

Making ice

Brushing teeth

Hand washing dishes

Bottled water may be used as an alternative.

This boil water notice will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink. The department is unable to provide an exact time of survey completion, though it should be no more than 72 hours.

A rescission notice will be distributed.

Affected properties include: 175 and 180 Old Dixie Hwy, and 950 1st Place (the convenience center)
