Christopher David Mikols, 95, Vero Beach

Christopher David Mikols, 95, died May 31, 2010, at Rosewood Manor in Vero Beach.

He was born in Baltimore and lived in Vero Beach for 24 years, coming from his birthplace.

He received a bachelor’s degree from the Maryland Institute of Art, Baltimore. He was a commercial artist for various organizations and companies. After retiring, he was a freelance artist.

He attended St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach. He was a member of Vero Beach Art Club and active in the formation of the Center of Arts, which is now the Vero Beach Museum of Art.

He also mentored the portrait classes at the center and was a member of the local Lithuanian Club and International Club.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Aldona Brooks Mikols of Vero Beach; daughters, Nancy Mikolaitis of Vero Beach and Patricia Mikols-Franklin of Philadelphia; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Mikolaitis.
