VERO BEACH — Tenants are beginning to fall in line at the former Modernage Furniture Building with many opting for a July opening for the 1.4 acre-site which shut down in 2007.Anchoring the space at the renamed Modern One building along Indian River Boulevard will be a family-run restaurant featuring hamburgers and beer called Brewgrrs Burgers & Brews. The 3,600-square-foot restaurant is said to plan to offer more than a dozen different burgers and 36 domestic and international beers on tap.Also expected to move into the site in time for the July opening are The Beach Shop, Faith Hope and Chocolate, Elle 720 Salon, Talulah’s Consign to Design, another Vero Beach Dry Cleaners and professional offices on the second floor.

Low beach attendance for January; no water rescues
VERO BEACH — While chilly temperatures caused a drop in beach attendance last month, lifeguards are happy to report that there were no water rescues that occurred in January. Slight dip for July beach attendance compared to last year
VERO BEACH — Beachgoers are hitting the shores this summer all while practicing social distancing amid the coronavirus pandemic. The city's three guarded beaches had a slight dip in attendance numbers in July compared to last year, according to a Vero Beach Lifeguard Association report. Last month, 86,095 people flocked to Jaycee Park Beach, Humiston Park Beach and South Beach Park, lifeguards said. This number is less than the 86,686 beachgoers who hit the sand in July 2019. In July of 2018, the city set an attendance record when the beaches had 93,000 visitors, lifeguards said.
