Vero Beach Memorial Day Observance

VERO BEACH — Memorial Day Ceremonies in Vero Beach will take place beginning at 9:30 a.m. Monday, May 31 at the Veterans’ Memorial Island Sanctuary.

Master of Ceremonies for the morning is Lt. Col. Eric “Rip” Wieler, USMC (Ret.), with Parade Marshal  Col. Anthony “Tony” Young, US Army (Ret.) and Parade Adjutant  Mack Dent, of the Veterans Council.

Music selections will be performed by members of the Vero Beach High School Band under the direction of James Sammons and Page Howell and by vocalist Dolores Mark Chambers.

Placing of the Wreath will be done by SSG Jack Main, US Army & Sgt. Brian Wright, USMC, followed by Bag Piping by Michael Hyde, USMM, Ship’s Bells by the Marine Corps League and Silent Rifle Drill by VBHS JROTC Cadet Kyle O’Leary.

The keynote speaker is Col. Martin Zickert, USAF (Ret.).
