Marybelle Funnell, 89, Vero Beach

Marybelle Funnell, 89, died on April 18, 2010 at the Palms Rehabilitation Center in Palm Bay.

She was born in Atwood, Indiana to parents Rex and Jennie Smith. Marybelle and Bernard C. Funnell were married Oct. 23, 1937 and lived in Warsaw, Ind.

Bernard passed away July 22, 1978. Marybelle moved to Vero Beach in 1983.

Sister Francis Blackford died in 1980. Marybelle was also preceded in death by two of her sons, Robert Funnell (September, 2003) and Bernard Funnell (March, 2006).

Her survivors include her brother, James Smith of Warsaw, Ind.; her sister, Audrey Decker of Montoursville, Pa.; and one son, Steven Funnell of Fort Myers.

She left four grandsons, Byron, Ben, Scott, and Jason Funnell and two granddaughters, Shelle Pendergrast and Mary Schwandner. She is also survived by five great-grandsons, Kirk, Kyle, Kaden, Sebastian, and Luke and six great-daughters, Amanda, Caitlin, Raffaella, Kailey, Sophie, and Kendall.

She was a member of Immanuel Church. She was a former member of the Indian River Garden Club and Daughters of the American Revolution.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Immanuel Church, 455 58th Ave. S.W., Vero Beach, Fl 32968.

A celebration of her life will be held at Immanuel Church on Saturday, May 8 at 2 p.m. and internment of her ashes will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw, Ind., on July 17, 2010.
