Find Hidden Treasures at Vero Beach High School

VERO BEACH — Imagine non-stop, fun-filled entertainment including band, orchestra, choral and dramatic presentations in your very own backyard.  The Vero Beach High School  Hidden Treasures Performing Arts Festival begins on Friday, May 14 from 5 to 9 pm and continues on Saturday, May 15 from 1 pm to 9 pm in and around the VBHS Performing Arts Center.

Friday night will feature the Jazz Band, Concerto Competition Winners and the Symphonic Band I, under the direction of Page Howell, James Sammons and Matt Stott.

Saturday will feature the Show Choir during the day and Advanced Choral groups in the evening, led by Gregory Harris accompanied by Karen Wiggins.  The VBHS Competitive Theatre Ensemble, led by Dee Rose Imbro, will present group and individual performances on Saturday.  Some selections will be dramatic monologues, musical comedy singing & dancing with choreography by Andrew Currie of dance space. Symphonic Band II will also perform on Saturday.

There will be outdoor vendors selling food and drinks, a bake sale, popcorn, face-painting and balloons.  Look for the visual art, including painting, drawing, photography, and pottery on display.

This festival concludes the 2009-2010 VBHS Performing Arts Season and features the hard work and dedication of over 400 young musicians, actors and artists.

The cost to the public is only $10 per day, general admission, with the proceeds going to support the VBHS Performing Arts Department.
