Sebastian man found guilty of attempting to murder his wife

VERO BEACH – A one-day trial ended in a second-degree murder conviction Thursday of a Sebastian man charged with repeatedly stabbing his wife after she asked for a separation.Roderick Grandison, 48, had been charged with attempted first-degree murder, but the six-person jury convicted him of the lesser charge. He will be sentenced on June 2 in Indian River Circuit Court.Second-degree murder carries a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison.Grandison attacked his wife on June 8, 2008 after she told him they needed to separate to end the daily arguments between the couple. He attacked her with a knife, stabbing her on the shoulder, back, cheek and neck.
