VERO BEACH — Master’s Academy will host an Open House at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 27 at Master’s Academy, 1105 58th Ave, Vero Beach for families with children entering Preschool age 3 – 12th grade

Open House topics will include: Curriculum, Financial Assistance, Athletics, Campus Tours, Student Activities, One-on-One with Faculty.

Our program is designed to balance an advanced academic schedule with activities that nurture student’s social, spiritual and physical development. Biblical principles at the heart of every subject help develop a Biblical worldview.

Before and aftercare available K-5th, summer camps, athletics for all grades, computer technology, fine and performing arts, music instruction, Spanish, weekly chapel.

Low beach attendance for January; no water rescues

VERO BEACH — While chilly temperatures caused a drop in beach attendance last month, lifeguards are happy to report that there were no water rescues that occurred in January. "It's a great thing," Vero Beach Lifeguard Association officials said in a statement. "We hope people are paying attention to lifeguards and condition signs before they go into the water." Fertilizer restrictions to go into effect next month

A reminder from the Indian River Neighborhood Association to residents of Indian River County, City of Vero Beach, Sebastian and Orchid. We are coming into our rainy season when more nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorous are likely to be washed from our lawns, driveways and roads into the storm water system and, ultimately, into our local waterways such as the Indian River Lagoon. The fertilizer ordinances passed by our communities goes into effect June 1st. It prohibits the use of lawn fertilizer between June 1st and September 30th. ‘No swimming’ advisory lifted for beaches, officials say

VERO BEACH — Authorities lifted a 'no swimming' advisory for three local beaches Tuesday after test samples showed that bacteria returned to normal levels, health department and city officials said. The result means it was safe to return to the water Tuesday, Vero Beach city officials said. The advisory - which was in place for nearly a week - was issued Jan. 31 for South Beach, Humiston Beach and Sexton Plaza Beach after high levels of fecal-related bacteria were reported at the locations.
