A Flurry of Wind and Percussion Sprint Chamber Concert

VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach High School presents a “Flurry of Wind and Percussion” Concert on Thursday, April 15, at 7 pm in the Performing Arts Center. A special evening of Chamber music will feature an eclectic mix of classical and contemporary pieces by various band ensembles. The event includes approximately 50 VBHS students, led by James Sammons, Page Howell, Matt Stott and Brandon Putzke.  Some musical selections will include the Trevelyan Suite, the Gillingham Concertino, which “has a pleasing straightforwardness of melodic style” and Jazz Variants, as well as the second debut performance of the inaugural VBHS Fife and Drum Troupe. Because of its intimate nature, chamber music has been described as “the music of friends.” Enjoy the creation and evolution of music through oboes, clarinets, marimbas, snare drums and more with your friends at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $10 for the upper Mezzanine level and $12 for the lower Orchestra level.  All proceeds benefit the musical education of the award winning students in Indian River County.
