Robert James Schasane, 81, died April 5, 2010, at his home.
He was born in Walkegan, Ill., and lived in Vero Beach since 1973, coming from Miami.
He owned the Piggly Wiggly in Fort Pierce, and was a former special deputy with Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.
He served in the Army and was Catholic.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Yolanda Schasane of Vero Beach; son, Tom Schasane of Aurora, Colo.; daughters, Ruthie Schasane of Vero Beach, Laura Eaton of Orlando and Cathy Mongole of Miami; brother, Joseph Schasane of Vero Beach; sister, Dorothy Kalinowski of Sarasota; and one grandson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA/Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
