VERO BEACH — Riverside Children’s Theatre’s theatre dance students recently competed at the Dance Educators of America South Eastern Regional Competition in Orlando and received numerous awards.
Under the direction of instructor Yvonne Miller, 18 students participated including Alysa Kormanec, Meghan Frampton, Kelly O’Brien, Emma Swallow, Madison Uhle, Nikki Bouldin, Kirra O’Brien, Colette Johnson, Mallory St. Clair, Katlyn Kimball, Tori Remington, Jordon Wassell, Karen Monuszko, Shannon Maloney, Megan Callahan, Kimmy Zerega, Tori Quigley and Sydney MacMillan.
The students were awarded four gold medals and four silver medals for their group numbers. Tori Remington and Jordan Wassell won silver medals for their solos with Megan Callahan and Katlyn Kimball winning gold medals for their solos.
Yvonne Miller has been teaching dance at Riverside Children’s Theatre since 1991. She will be teaching weekly dance classes at RCT this summer as well as the Dance Camp for ages 10 and up the week of June 14. RCT’s Dance Conservatory this summer will also be offering two weeks of Ballet Boot Camp.
