Bags & Bubbly Luncheon to benefit area youth

VERO BEACH — Join Youth Guidance and the Willow School for a Bags & Bubbly Luncheon on Friday, April 23, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Grand Harbor Golf Club.  The event offers a champagne luncheon, great company and high-end designer handbags.  Tickets are $75.

Guest attending Bags & Bubbly will be able to bid on exclusive new and gently-used handbags, scarves, accessories and other goodies during the silent auction.  They will also enjoy a tasty lunch with champagne while they mingle with other community supporters.  Jennifer Read Hawthorne, author of Chicken Soup for the Woman’s Soul, will be featured and music by Grammy Award winner Robert Navarro will be performed.

Proceeds will benefit The Willow School with a portion benefiting the Youth Guidance Mentoring & Activities Program.  The primary purpose of Youth Guidance is to match each of its 700 at-risk K-12 children with a volunteer mentor 21 years and older.  Mentors spend just a few hours a week with their mentee.

The agency is actively seeking volunteers to serve as mentors, tutors or periodic volunteers at a special activity or to provide regular help in the office. Youth Guidance is also looking for partnerships with businesses, service clubs and church groups to pair with their unmatched children for just one activity a year.  The Guidance Gallery, a board featuring 80 Youth Guidance children who need mentors, is available for organizations or businesses to display in their lobbies to help recruit mentors.
