Luncheon at Felix Place to benefit Chili earthquake victims

VERO BEACH — A fundraiser to benefit victims of the recent devastating earthquakes in Chili will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 11 at Felix Place, 40 43rd Street in Vero Beach.  100% of all profits will be donated to the Un Techo para Chile foundation in the hope that it will help re-build homes and schools.

On February 27 at around 3:30 am local time, the people in six regions of Chile were woken up to an 8.8 magnitude earthquake that lasted more than 90 seconds.   Aftershocks stronger than 6.0 magnitudes were felt for 3 weeks following that horrific morning the last one being March 26.  Nearly half the country was declared a catastrophe zone.

Un Techo para Chile (A Roof for Chile) is a non-profit organization that aims to find sustainable solutions for those living in poverty.  This organization is working to build 20,000 emergency houses for those displaced by the disaster.  For more information on this wonderful organization, go to

The cost of the luncheon is $40, which includes appetizers, a Spanish-style lunch and a glass of wine.  There will also be flamenco dancing for your entertainment.  Besides the lunch, there will also be an array of raffles that afternoon including prizes such as massages, teeth cleanings, Silpada jewelry, a hotel stay, designer cakes, trips on kayak and gift certificates from Chelsea’s market and Fresh Market.

If you would like to purchase raffle tickets only, they are available for $5 a ticket; winners not at the luncheon will be notified by phone.  Raffle tickets may be purchased at Felix Café or calling Nicole at 772-766-0209.

For lunch tickets, call Nicole at 772-766-0209.

All tickets will be sold prior to the lunch and all checks are to be made out to Un Techo para Chile. Space is limited to 50 and tickets have been going fast.  Thank you – together we can help rebuild the beautiful country of Chile!
